Hanabi |
Hanabi is the Japanese word for fireworks (literally flower fire). During summer (August)
there is a huge fireworks show in Chiba that lasts an hour and a half and is
displayed simultaneously in three main cities -including Abiko.
We went with Miho, Itsuka's friend (both dressed in kimonos) and watched
from the side of Lake Teganuma. Using the 'night vision' function
on our video camera we were also able to catch some shots
of the spectators!
Afterward we visited Teganuma Park where there was a huge carnival like atmosphere and
many stalls to buy candy floss and even NOVA novelties!
