Cherry Blossoms |

"Hanami" is the Japanese
name for a picnic held during the Cherry Blossom season.
One of the most popular places for this is Ueno Park in Tokyo (above
and below).
Here business colleagues sit together on large mats under the
Cherry Blossom trees drinking sake.
We are almost lost in the huge crowds.

Meanwhile, in Abiko the Cherry Blossoms are also also blooming...

Above, left and right: We enjoy our own little 'hanami' near Lake
Teganuma
and enjoy the variety of flowers blooming at this exciting time
in the Japanese calendar.

Above: We are also invited to another hanami in Abiko, with friends and
English students!
