purposes.

                             A RESOLUTION
    
 1  Honoring the life of Mr. Wesley Parker; and for other
 2  purposes.
    
 3  WHEREAS, Wesley Parker was a distinguished and beloved
 4  citizen of Worth County, Georgia; and
    
 5  WHEREAS, he was born August 22, 1925, son of the late
 6  Johnnie and Freeman Parker, Sr.; and
    
 7  WHEREAS, he attended Worth County public schools and joined
 8  the Mount Olive #2 Baptist Church at an early age where he
 9  served faithfully until his death; and
    
10  WHEREAS, he served honorably as a member of the United
11  States Army and upon his discharge chose to return to Worth
12  County to carry on the Parker family tradition of farming;
13  and
    
14  WHEREAS, through diligence and dedication to purpose, he
15  became a successful and respected agribusinessman; and
    
16  WHEREAS, he also served as chairman of the Mount Olive
17  Deacon Board, treasurer of the St. Paul Association, and
18  treasurer of the Worth County Young Farmers Association; and
    
19  WHEREAS, he was a devoted husband, father, brother, and
20  friend who was loved by his wife, Mrs. Ophelia Smith Parker,
21  their 12 children, 20 grandchildren, and one
22  great-grandchild.
    
23  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
24  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor the life
25  of Wesley Parker and express their sincerest regret at his
26  passing.
    
27  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
28  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
29  appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ophelia Parker.
