I wrote this short, non-fictional story in 1998. While it is a good example of my informal writing, I should warn that it may not make much sense unless you went to high school with me. If not, you're welcome to read it and may enjoy it anyway.

I wrote this essay on the decline of the American family for a writing course that I took in college--it is more formal writing than the lunchtime story.
