Yes, it is good but it hurt him. He felt he should let Antony speak second to the people after Caesar was killed. He gave him permission to carry the body and told him to only speak well of Caesar and the conspirators and this hurt him. He was noble and trusted Antony, but being noble and honorable hurt him in the end. Periptiea Caesar had a reversal of fortune because he did fall from high to low. He was put as leader and thought he had good friends but they went again him. He was once the king of his land but was killed by the people he felt followed him. Anagnorisis Antony got recognized in the play with the way he turned around the speeches after Caesar was killed. No one felt that he would do anything wrong like speak bad of the conspirators or the wounds of Caesar. He surprised them and was recognized by Brutus and Cassius as being more powerful than they thought. The people rallied with him and not Brutus as they did when he gave his first speech. Catharsis Caesar's death could be seen as a catharsis because Caesar was seen as a noble man and when he died some were sad to see him go. They felt bad that he was an honorable man that died because some others were power hungry. They could have also felt fear for him when Artimedous had warned him that he might die outside the capital. When Portia died as well, the audience could have been upset because Cassius took it hard, as Brutus did not. They could have felt pity in her death as well as Caesar's. |
