"The Evangelical Free Church is committed to a congregational form of government, as stated in Article 8 of our Statement of Faith: "We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs." Strong pastoral leadership coupled with Spirit-controlled Christian lay people can produce efficient and effective church growth. The New Testament emphasizes the importance of the "body" of Christ ministering through the spiritual gifts that have been given to each believer. The congregational form of church government gives the fullest opportunity to harness and utilize the gifts to be used within the local church."

Pastor: The pastor is a paid staff member hired by the church to provide spiritual leadership and direction to the congregation in conjuction with the elders and church membership. Parkdale's current pastor is Tom Hilchie. He has been in this position since September, 2001.
Elders Board: Responsible for the spiritual direction and guidance of the church. Elders are elected to a three year term.
Board: Responsible for the physical aspects of church ministries, such as finances, building maintenance, church vehicles, daycare, church building use, etc. The board includes representatives from each of the main church ministries.
Trustees: Responsible for the physical upkeep of the church building and property. Elected to a three year term.
Deaconesses: Responsibilities include hospitality and organization of different church functions as well as the coordination of women's ministries. Elected to a three year term.
Daycare Board: Responsible for the operation of the daycare (Parkdale Early Childcare Center) which the church runs in its basement from Monday to Friday. The Daycare Board Chair is also specifically responsible for being a liason between the daycare board and the church board.
