Conversaciones con Dios

(Note: before we did this in Mexico, we had some of them look it through and make changes and corrections where there were grammatical mistakes or the people would not understand. The version shown here is before these corrections were made. If you want to use this skit, we would suggest you have someone in Mexico check it for you)

Characters:

• Dios (God)
• Blanca (God's secretary)
• Sleepy (A tired prayer)
• Greedy (A selfish prayer)
• Hungry (A mealtime prayer)
• Genuine (A humble, sincere prayer)

Setting: In God�s office. Blanca sits in a chair to the side (the "reception" area) filing her nails. There is a chair and desk (table would be fine) in the middle. There is a sign on the desk reading "God�s Desk" (translate to Spanish � "El Escritorio de Dios")

(Dios enters)

Blanca: Hola Dios!

Dios: Que tal, Blanca. (Dios walks to desk and sits)

(Sleepy enters)

Sleepy: Buenos d�as� (yawns) Dios est� aqu�?

Blanca: Si, est� aqu�

Sleepy: �Gracias� (enters)

Dios: Buenas d�as� Que bueno verte� si�ntate. �C�mo amaneciste?

Sleepy: Estoy muy cansado, Dios, muy cansado�

Dios: (thinking) Mmmmmm, y por qu�?

Sleepy: No s� (yawns) Pero, tengo mucho sue�o....mucho sue�o� (nods off)

Dios: Hace mucho tiempo que hablamos.

Sleepy: S� mucho� tiempo� (falls asleep)

(Dios wakes Sleepy)

Sleepy: Lo siento, Dios� Estoy demasiado cansado� Ya tengo que ir�. Hasta 
manana� (exits)

Dios: (Sighs) Pero, s�lo quiero hablar contigo.

(Greedy enters)

Blanca: Bienvenido!

Greedy: Yo quiero ver a Dios, AHORA! (walks in and sits in front of God, 
pulling a long list out of his pocket)

Dios: Pues... buenos d�as, como has estado?

Greedy: Bi�n, gracias� tengo ocho peticiones! (begins to read long list of 
requests, yo quiero, necesito, me gustar�a, etc.)

(Greedy stands) 

Greedy: Ya me voy! Hasta manana! (exits)

Dios: (sighs) Pero... s�lo quiero hablar�

(Hungry enters)

Hungry: Que tal? (leans his head into Dios� office) Gracias por la comida, 
Dios. Bye bye (exits) 

Dios: Bueno...De nada.

(Genuine enters, looking nervous)

Genuine: Perd�n� Est� Dios?

Blanca: Claro que s� se�or, siempre est� aqu� y creo que quiere hablar contigo.

Genuine: (excitedly) Gracias, se�ora!!! (enters) Buenos d�as� Podemos hablar?

Dios: Claro que s�, podemos hablar, Alejandro.

(Freeze)

Blanca reads John 15:15. (in Spanish)
