The ACTS of the Apostles 13
1) Review last week’s discussion of Peter’s vision and it’s meaning.
2) Have you ever faced prejudice? How did you deal with it and respond to it?
3) Do you think your church provide an unprejudiced environment? What are it’s good points and areas where it could improve?
Read Acts 10:24-48
4) How had Cornelius prepared for Peter’s visit?
5) How did Peter refuse the centurion’s homage?
6) What did Peter say to show that he had learned what God had wanted him to learn?
7) How was Peter’s understanding of God changed by his vision?
8) Relate an experience of your own where, like Peter, a teaching or message has enhanced your understanding and relationship with God.
9) What happened to the non-Jewish believers to show the Jewish believers that God had accepted them, and how did the circumcised believers react?
10) How do cultural and religious barriers hinder growth in our faith?
11) If God were to give you a vision like Peter’s, what deep seated prejudices might he call on you to get rid of? (or maybe God has taught you a similar lesson in the past in some way)
12) What can we do to make first time visitors and visitors with different cultures, ideas and upbringing feel welcome in our church?
13) What people do you encounter throughout the week who are different than you in some major ways? What can you do to be an effective witness to these people?
