4. Discuss the reasons behind a) Peter’s denial of Christ and b) the Israelites complaining at the spies report of the Promised Land. Then read Daniel 3:16-18. How do the responses of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego compare?

5. Discuss some common fears (maybe some from question 1) - how does trust in God help to dispel these fears?

6. The author names four things that we can hold onto when we are fearful. Look at the following verses and see if you can pick out the first:-

7. The second is the ‘power of God.’ Look at the following verses. What does the power of God equip us for and how can it resolve our fears?

8. What is the third principle that we can take hold of … how can we put it into action?

Ps. 91 (yes all of it!)

9. Matt 6:25-34 speaks of the “provision of God.” Knowing that God will take care of our needs is comforting and can take away our fears. However, sometimes it’s hard to distinguish between what we want and what we need which often leads to fear and sinful speech. How can we tell the difference?

12. 1 Corinthians 13 is a famous passage on love … look at the chapter and the chart. Discuss the traits of love and how they can combat our fears.
