Parka Kings Home

Corduroy

You could say she is all woman now
But shes still a lot of little girl
Ready for the bar scene
Too young for the real world
She can stay awake at night
And drink back laughter just like beer
Until the morning comes
And she chokes on the bitter liquor of her tears

You say that I'm a grown man now
But still a lot of little boy
Ready for the books and papers
Still cling fast to the little toys
I can work all day stay out all night
Until my money has been spent
Still to irresponsible
To earn enuff to pay the rent

Jostle about, shake and jump
Shout for joy
Our young smoother skin will still just toughen up
Like corduroy

We can read the paper at the bus stop
Or watch the news on the TV
It's the same old song and dance my friend
Don't let it bother you and me
We'll run so fast we'll lose our breath
And slow down only if you please
A passing situation
The world wont have us on our knees.
