MISSION


Park Central is a mission oriented church. Members of Park Central Church, inspired by Christ's example, contribute time, talent and money to mission projects at the local, national and international levels. Some of these contributions include:

* Sponsorship of a church family's 10 day trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to help rebuild devistated homes.

* Tithing 10% of the church's annual budget (which leads the Cayuga-Seneca Presbytery) to the Unified Mission Giving of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.

* Donation of space and utilities to the Syracuse Area Tennants Network.

* Providing volunteers and money to many local and area projects including:

  • Vanderkamp
  • Samaritan Center
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Renovation of South Presbyterian inner-city houses.
  • Lunchtime one on one reading program at the Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet School.
  • Apartment start-up funds and materials for Bosnian refugee family.
  • Korean Church refugees.
  • One week summer activity program for Cherry Hill Apartments in cooperation with a low income lunch program.
  • Urban Garden Giveaways.
  • Delivering food to urban high-rises.
  • Donating food to the Hopps Memorial Food Pantry.
  • Contributing to Protestant Campus Ministries.
  • Contributing to Foster Grandparent Program.
  • Contributing to Hispanic Ministry Community Radio.
  • Contributing volenteer time and money preparing estimates, structural evaluations and repair.
  • Costs for Helen's House, a future home for AIDS patients.
  • Representation on Mayor's "Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today" strategic planning committee.
  • Crop Walk.




EVANGELISM & OUTREACH

Our business at Park Central Church is not just about filling pews, but also about filling lives. We seek to enrich our community by proclaiming the Gospel to everyone. We all are called to be Ministers of Christ.
