In addition, the choir performs two or three major works with orchestra each year. Members of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra are also hired to play for Easter and Christmas services. Major works performed at Park Central include Duruflé's Requiem, Brahms' A German Requiem, J.S. Bach's Magnificat and Conrad Susa's Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest. The choir also participated with members of numerous other choirs throughout the Presbytery in the General Assembly Meeting of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. which was held at the Syracuse War Memorial on June 14 - 21, 1997, with Dr. Pretzat conducting over 700 voices. On May 21, 2000, the choir will join with other area church choirs and orchestra in a performance of Haydn's Creation. The Kirk Choir has also commissioned and premiered new works by local and other composers.
The Kirk Chior is open to all with some music reading ability. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings 7:30 to 9:30pm.
