2003 Cardinal Classic
Hosted by Gadsden State Community College and Southside High School Conducted by Gadsden Track Club October 16, 2003 EVENTS: Collegiate Women�s 5K Race at 3:00 PM Collegiate Men�s 8K Race at 3:40 PM Men and Women�s High School 5K Race at 4:30 PM LOCATION: Community Recreation Park located in the rear of Gadsden State Community College at 1001 Wallace Drive, Gadsden, Alabama. COURSE: Races will be run in the Community Recreation Park primarily on grass with some dirt/gravel and 3 asphalt road crossings. The course will be run over soccer fields, grass fields, through woods, and around the College�s aquaculture ponds. The collegiate men�s 8K course will include one loop of the 5K course and a second loop comprised of 1.9 miles of the 5K course. ENTRY FEES: Entry fees are $30 for each team or $60 for both men and women. Please complete the enclosed roster and return by mai, fax, or e-mail by October 10. A $5 per person registration is available for teams without 5 runners. Make checks payable to GADSDEN TRACK CLUB (EIN # 63-0763244). Payment may be sent with rosters or teams may pay upon arrival. AWARDS:Team trophies to the top 2 teams in each race. T-shirts will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each race. The collegiate awards ceremony will follow the collegiate events and the awards for the high school race will be presented immediately after the high school race. The course for the Cardinal Classic will be the same course used for the Alabama Community College Conference/National Junior and Community College Athletic Association Region 22 Meet. Teams may enter an unlimited number of runners but only 5 runners will be scored from each team. The course will be open for inspection at any time on race day. Refreshments will be available to runners upon completion of each race. Restrooms will be available in the area of the Park and showers will be available in Beck Fieldhouse on the College campus.
