Jeff Hyslop has played the role of Erik, the Phantom more than 900 times across Canada. He was the original Phantom in the Canadian National Company for over two and a half years and later went to perform as the final Phantom at Toronto's Pantages Theatre. Just prior to Jeff's visit to Pantages he was in the musical 'Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris' (pictured left).
Jeff has been in a variety of musicals including 'Kiss of the Spiderwoman' (Molina), 'Cabaret' (Emcee), 'A Chorus Line' (Mike), 'Godspell' (Jesus), 'Pirates of Penzance' (Frederic), 'Anne of Green Gables' (Gilbert), 'Dames at Sea' (Dick), 'The Fantasticks', 'Pippin' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. |

In the early 80s Jeff starred in the popular kids TV show Today's Special (pictured right lower), playing the role of Jeff the Mannequin. This show has grown in popularity for over 10 years and is broadcast across North America, Australia and New Zealand. He has also appeared on television for both CTV and CBC-TV. Highlighting Jeff's career on television has been his own Dancin' Man Superspecial. In Dancin' Man Jeff performed with Karen Kain, who is his favorite dancing partner.
After finishing 'Phantom of the Opera' (pictured right upper) in Toronto Jeff began to create his new, one-man show 'Jeff Hyslop Now!' with the help of David Warrack on piano. The show incorporates some of Broadway's greatest musicals and showcases Jeff's abilities as a singer, dancer and actor. It also allows him to demonstrate his established career as a choreographer.
Jeff has recorded a solo album 'Jeff Hyslop: Feet First', which can be found in music stores across Canada and ordered online at HMV. On this album Jeff sings a variety of songs, most of which are from musicals he been in at one time or another. |

Most recently Jeff has hosted and starred in 'Kurt Weill 100'. This was a tribute to the late composer of such works as 'Three Penny Opera', 'Lost in the Stars', 'Lady in the Dark' and 'Mahagonny'. In this tribute Jeff sang alongside such people as Judith Lander, David Dunbar, Marcus Nance, John Alcorn, Denise Williams and Janet Martin. They were accompanied by both David Warrack and Lona Davis on piano. |
