Window in Tower, above Balcony

The Princetta Harnish Window

As a young woman Princetta went to the United States and trained for the nursing profession at a hospital in Maine. She served overseas with the American army during the first World War. The medals she won for her service there are the treasured possesion of family members.

Princetta was baptised in St. Barnabas Church. She was born in Upper Blandford in 1884 and died in the U.S.A. in 1963.

The window was given in Princetta's memory by John and Gladys Meisner. The light which flows through the window is in recognition of her goodness. The dove symbolizes the Holy Spirit. The candle is that of the Florence Nightingale tradition. It is surmounted by the symbol of healing.
