Arguably the most famous street in the world, this avenue has seen
it all. In recent years it has had the sidewalks widened to accomidate
all the pedestrians that tour it every day. The area is full of sights
to see.

The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is loaded with cafés,
movie theaters, and shops. It runs from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place
de la Concorde at the Louvre. At the Arc end is the commercial area and
the other end is more scenic with parks lining either side.

The Arc de Triomphe was built by Napoleon to honor himself and hiw
victories. Below it is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.
You can climb to the top of the Arc and get fantastic views of the city
below.

The President lives in the Palais de l'Elysée which is just
off the Avenue.

Rue St. Honoré and Avenue Montaigne should not be
missed if shopping is your love. THese streets contain all the highest
fashion and luxury.

The Grand Palais and the Petit Palais are massive palaces
which serve as exhibition halls now. There are also art exhibits within
the Petit Palais.

Palais de la Decouverte is a wing of the Grand Palais that houses
a small museum dedicated to science.

The bidge which leads directly to Invalides is Pont Alexandre III
and often considered the prettiest of Paris' bridges. It is an art nouveau
design and crosses the Seine in a single span. There are four columns that
are adorned by gold statues at either end.
