| It was Constant Girard who designed the the now famous Tourbillon with three gold bridges. The complex technology of the tourbillon is still today a difficult mechanism to craft, and a marvel because it corrects the inacuracies effected by gravity. When Girard presented his Three Gold Bridges watch to the Paris Universal Exhibitions of 1867 and 1889, the judges deemed the timepiece to perfect to compete. The Three Gold Bridges first moved to the wrist in 1991, as a commemorative timepiece for the companies 200th birthday. |
