Mission
Statement.
The mission
of Parent to Parent Magic is to establish and maintain a parent
"mentor" network in Huntingdon, Juniata and Mifflin Counties
area. This network will provide emotional support and practical
information by matching experienced parents, on a one to one basis, with parents
of newly diagnosed children with special needs. Parent to Parent Magic
will also develop awareness and promote advocacy for children with special needs
and their families.
Fulfilling
our Mission
We continually strive to
fulfill our mission in a variety of ways. A network has now been established which facilitates in
matching newly referred parents to parents who have "been there".
We support parents and promote awareness with the
establishment of a resource library. This allows parents and other caregivers
to borrow both books and videos pertaining to their specific interest or
disability.
Additionally, support is given in the form of professionally led
workshops including general parenting concerns along with special issues
involving mentoring. We continually seek out the latest information available
on disabilities and share developments with parents in our network.
