Carry
Pardue/Perdues back to old Virginia
2007 Roanoke
Carry Pardue/Perdues back to old Virginia,
There's where Ole John’s family cousins grow,
There's where the family meets in the summertime,
There's where this old cousin’s heart am long'd to go.
There's where I labor'd so hard for my loved ones,
Day after day in the field of Pardue/Perdue cousins,
No place on earth do I love more sincerely,
Than Roanoke Virginia, the Star City we gather round.
CHORUS
Carry Pardue/Perdues back to old Virginia,
There's where Ole John’s family cousins grow,
There's where the family meets in the summertime,
There's where this old cousin’s heart am long'd to go.
Carry Pardue/Perdues back to old Virginia,
There let me live with cousins from far away,
Long by the old family homes have I wander'd,
There's where this old cousin's life will smile away,
Mama and Papa have long gone before me,
Soon will we meet on that Pardue/Perdue golden shore,
There we'll be happy and free from all sorrow,
There's where we'll meet and we'll never part no more.
CHORUS
