| paravion were formed in Stirling, Scotland. Well everyone's got to start somewhere, right? In terms of "Rock family tree" history, two thirds of the band (Derek and Scott) featured in a spectacularly dreadful, lazy and shambolic lo-fi outfit called Eskimo. With the legendary Mick "two note" Togneri (bass) completing the line-up, Eskimo's one and only gig (one gig too many perhaps) at the Fubar in Stirling, was such a horrid farce that the bouncers threw them out. When Steve arrived on the scene, he initially replaced Derek on drums. Get you, Mr Versatile. Drama was to ensue, however, when Mick sensationally quit the band after being asked to consider maybe just trying a third bass note. Sensing the despair from afar, Derek heroically returned and with some crazy rock ideas in mind, paravion came into being. |

| Describing paravion musically is not easy. The band undoubtedly likes SonicYouth/Polvo and their many alternate tunings. What Scott isn't so keen on is dragging 4 guitars around everywhere. Overall, the band have a desire to make some of their music feature tortuous repetitive drones, with the remainder being insular and annoyingly changeable. Or you could just say they are "mostly loud". | ||||||||
