Grade Level: 9th – 12th

Grade Level:

This unit plan is recommended for 9th to 12th grade students in English classroom. They can compare a girl in 7th grade with themselves in 9th to 12th grade.

Accommodations:

For the first part of this unit, which is writing diary entries, students can write at their own personal level of writing skills. Foreign/ESL students can also try their best according to their personal level in writing. For students with hearing difficulty, a topic of the diary entry will be written each day on a black/white board so that they can visually understand the topic of the lesson. For students with visual difficulty, a topic of the diary entry will be announced verbally following either small-group or class discussion each day so that they can participate and understand the topic of the lesson. For students with focusing difficulty, all lessons have various activities including writing, discussing, typing, drawing, cut/pasting, burying, etc.

For the second part of this unit, which is focusing on revising and expanding a diary entry, students can work on their own personal level of writing skills. Grammar, word misusages, and misspellings will be taught within the context of each studentfs writing. Foreign/ESL students can also be guided to develop their skills in English writing according to their personal level.
