VEDIC SAYINGS-3
  1. "Apeta Vita Vi Cha Sarpataatah" - Go away, withdraw, and depart from here. (Rig Veda). This verse is chanted during cremation of the dead body.
  2. "Asuddham Kaama-samkalpam, Suddham Kaama-vivarjitam" - (Mind) moved by lust is impure; free of lust it is pure. (Brahma-bindu Upanishad).
  3. "Gavam Aneka Varnaanaam, Ksheerasyapya Eka Varnata" - Cows are many-coloured;  the milk (of all) has but one colour. (Brahma-bindu Upanishad).
  4. "Akaaranam Katham Kaarya, Samsaare-atra Bhavishyati" - How shall there be in this Samsara an uncaused action. (Devi Bhagavata). Nothing occurs which is not linked to the past and to the future.
  5. "Prarabdha-karmanaam Bhogat Eva Kshayah" - The exhaustion of Prarabdha-karma is possible only by the suffering of the consequences of it. (Devi Bhagavata).
  6. "Ekam Eva Advitiyam" - One only, without a second. (Chandogya Upanishad). All the Srutis proclaim the Nirguna Brahman like that. 
  7. "Tameva Bhantamanubhati Sarvam Tasya Bhaasa Sarvam Idam Vibhati" - When He hath shone forth, all shines forth after Him; by the shining forth of Him all this shines forth. (Katha upanishad).
  8. "Achaara-heenam Na Punanti Vedah" - The Vedas do not purify him who is devoid of good conduct. (Vasishta Smriti).
  9. "Eko Devah Sarva-bhuteshu Gooddah Sarva-vyaapi Sarva-bhutah-antaraatma" - One God is hidden in all beings, all-pervading, the innermost Self of all. (Svetaasvatara Upanishad).
  10. "Karma Mano-vak-deha Sambhavam" - Action is born of mind, speech and body. (Manu Smriti).
  11. "Ahimsa Paramo Dharmah" - Harmlessness is the highest duty, taught Bhishma. (Maha Bharata).
  12. "Chitaa-moksha-prabriti Cha Pretatvam Upajayate" - After the cremation is completed (the Jiva) becomes a preta. (Garuda Puranam).
  13. "Sulabhah Purusha Raajan Satatam Priyavaadinah"  - Easy to find, O King!, are the men that always speak the words that please. (Ramayana).
  14. "Samtosha-moolam Hi Sukham, Duhkha-moolam Viparyayah" - Content is verily the root of happiness, the opposite is the root of sorrow. (Manu Smriti).
  15. "Nityah Sarvagatah Sthanura-achalo-ayam Sanaatanah" - This self is eternal, all-pervading, fixed, motionless, everlasting. It is called Vaidika Dharma. (Bhagavat Gita: 2-24).
  16. "Atmana Esha Praano Jaayate" - Of Atman this life is born. (Prashna Upanishad).
  17. "Ye Hi Samsparshaja Bhogaa Duhkhayonaya Eva te" - The delights that are contact-born are verily the wombs of pain. (Bhagavat Gita:5-22).
  18. "Vishuddhabuddheh Paramaatma-vedanam Tenaiva Samsaara-samoola-naashah" - For the one whose mind is purified, recognition of the limitless Self takes place. By that recognition the destruction of the 'samsaara' along with its cause (ignorance) results. (Vivekachudamani).
  19. "Praano Hi Bhootaanaam-aayuh" - Praana is verily the Life of beings. SSo it is called the Life of all. (Taittiriya Upanishad).
  20. "Annagum Hi Bhootaanaam Jyeshtam" - So, verily, food is the eldest of all the creatures. All beings that exist on earth are born of food. They live by food. Again they ultimately go back to it and merge to become food. (Taittiriya Upanishad).
