Sonic Syndicate
The album from Sonic Syndicate was really a blast. This band comes from Sweden and we can say that they are the future of the Swedish Death Metal scene. They are young and if the still continue to work hard, then they will become a big name in the metal scene. So, take some minutes and ready the things that they told us.

1. First of all give me the curriculum vitae of the band…
Sonic Syndicate is just another Sellout-Hairstyled-Metal band among others, but the thing that makes Sonic Syndicate different, is because we are the best band among the posers. This whole start-a-band thing came up on Christmas night some years ago, when I (Robin, Guitars), Richard (vocals) and Roger (Guitars) ate Christmas dinner. Our dreams were to be rock stars, to have a lot of girls, cars, bling-bling etc. Me, Richard and Roger met Andreas in a car accident and became good friends with him. Then we realized that he could be our band mate so he ended up behind the keyboards. Chris (drums) was known from school as a drummer so he also ended up in this band. Richard and Roger found Karin in a local pub. That’s how we ended up with each other, the rest is history.
2. Who had the idea of the band’s name? Is there any particular story concerning the name Sonic Syndicate?
We all like Nintendo games a lot so we took Sonic from "Sonic The Hedgehog" and Syndicate from "Syndicate Wars". Haha no, to be honest, I don’t have a fucking clue where we got Sonic Syndicate from. But it was Richard who was the brain behind the name. We thought a lot about the band name and which should be the perfect name for us. "Hey, I wanna have something with either Sonic or Syndicate... maybe Sonic Syndicate?"
3. How long has your album been released?
Since the 13th of September 2005. It got pretty delayed but that was cool with us.
4. Which are the reactions towards your album so far?
All the response I’ve heard is really good! Many of our friends didn’t think we could do this great record. To see friends and family drop their jaws was cool haha. I’m looking forward to showing our next album to the people since the songs are way better.
5. How could you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard it, so that he can get a clear image of what to expect?
Metal with a spice of ... Pop-music, haha. Think a mix between American Metalcore and Swedish metal, the result is Sonic Syndicate.
6. Are you satisfied with the help from your label?
Fuck yeah! It’s because of them one of our dreams became true, to release a full-length album. They have helped us with a lot of things, not just the record, with things outside the music to.
7. Which are the musical influences of each and every one of you?
We have a lot of different influences. But As I Lay dying, Funeral for a Friend, Mnemic, Story of the Year and In Flames are our biggest influences.
8. What are you listening to, at the present time?
Everyone of us listens a lot to different music, not just metal. Richard and I listen to a lot of Emo and Pop music, like Story Of the year, Funeral For a Friend etc. Karin prefers Marilyn Manson and music like that. Andreas listens mostly to Reggae. It’s Chris and Roger who are the metalheads [laughter]. No but they listen mostly to Metal like In Flames, Soilwork, Mnemic etc. But also Millencollin and Kelly Clarksson. You probably think now "What the fuck, is this a metalband?!" haha.
9. Tell me something about your lyrics.
Richard is the one who writes the lyrics. And they are mostly about his personal life and stuff. About Love, Death and Sorrow. I can’t tell much about the lyrics because it’s not my area.
10. Inform us on the metal scene in your country…
The Number-Ones in metal here in Sweden are without a doubt In Flames. But it’s a lot of metal bands here in Sweden, but many sound the same, and we try not to be another Swedish band, and we succeed in that. That’s why I’m not into Swedish metal.
11. Which are the future plans of Sonic Syndicate?
We are on the road for the moment. And when we’re not playing, we’re living in the rehearsal room and writing new songs very effectively. We all just want to head into the studio and record the next album, it will be so much better then "Eden Fire".
12. Thanks for your time and close the interview as you want.
It was my pleasure. Be sure to hear more about Sonic Syndicate! Alright, peace out!
