Intronaut
Generally I find prologues rather difficult, cause I feel I have to write something really clever or nice to attract the attention of the readers. Sometimes things are easy when presenting a band and others not... The latter is the case with Intronaut, simply because you can't classify them under a specific genre or describe them in a coherent and understandable way. That's why I think you should spend some time reading this interview and if you find things interesting make sure to check their music out afterwards...

1. YOU’VE RECENTLY RELEASED “VOID”. SO HOW DO YOU EVALUATE IT SINCE SOME TIME HAS PASSED? ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH THE FINAL RESULT OR IS THERE ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE TO CHANGE?
I think it’s great. I mean I hardly listen to it, maybe once in a while, but after playing those songs so much this year, I just need something else! I wouldn’t change anything about it. It is what it is and people seem to like it.
2. CAN YOU GIVE US A SHORT INTRONAUT BIOGRAPHY AND PRESENTATION OF THE BAND MEMBERS?
Sacha Dunable – guitar/vocals, Leon Del Muerte – guitar/vocals, Joe Lester – bass, Danny Walker – drums.  We all got together in late 2004 and have been loving it ever since.
3. YOUR MUSIC IS VERY COMPLEX AND MULTILAYERED. IT’S DEATH METAL AND AT THE SAME TIME IT’S NOT. IT HAS SO MANY ELEMENTS… HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND? COULD YOU NAME SOME OF YOUR MOST BELOVED BANDS?
I wouldn’t consider us a death metal band, even though that might be part of our past or whatever. We take influence from many non-metal bands and styles of music.  Most of us rarely even listen to heavy music anymore. I can’t give you everyone’s individual tastes, but I know that this band wouldn’t be the way it was without Yes, Soundgarden, Neurosis, and Dystopia.
4. WHAT KIND OF PROCEDURE DO YOU FOLLOW WHILST COMPOSING SONGS? YOU BASE YOUR COMPOSITIONS ON YOUR SKILLS. AREN’T YOU AFRAID THAT SONGS THAT ARE FLAWLESS TECHNICALLY MIGHT LACK IN EMOTIONS OR DEPTH?
On the contrary, it’s emotion first and skill second. We put much more emphasis on writing a good song than showing off. That being said, the technical playing aspect will sometimes get in the way during the writing process, and sort of cloud the vision for what that song was originally supposed to come across as. You just have to keep an open mind while writing and be able to critique yourself.
5. LET’S SUPPOSE THAT YOU WERE ASKED TO WRITE A REVIEW FOR “VOID”. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TRYING TO BE AS OBJECTIVE AS POSSIBLE?
Best album ever, burn the rest of your music collection.
6. WHAT’S THE BEST AND WHAT’S THE WORST PART OF YOUR MUSIC, ACCORDING TO YOU?
Why would I think there was a bad aspect of our music? If that’s ever the case, we correct it. Besides, we’re perfect. :)
7. COULD YOU LIST THE REASONS WHY YOU THINK YOUR WORK DESERVES TO BE NOTICED?
Why we deserve to be noticed more than others? I mean, I think that because I love us, but I don’t know if we deserve anything more than what we have right now. You have to work to get noticed, and we’re doing that. The question is: do most people deserve to notice us?
8. UNDERLINE THE MAIN TOPICS YOUR ALBUM DEALS WITH… WHICH ARE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION? WHY DID YOU NAME YOUR ALBUM “VOID”?
Lyrically, we’re inspired by everyday life sorts of topics. The stupid fucking sheep you come across daily, the light-speed advancement of technology, getting high, haha ok yeah whatever. We named the album “Void” mostly because we had an EP named “Null” (null and void?). Get it?
9. ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH THE FEEDBACK YOU’VE RECEIVED THIS FAR? WHAT WAS THE BEST AND WHAT THE WORST COMMENT YOU’VE READ?
The feedback in the US was outstanding. I’m not sure if I’ve read much from Europe, but I think it was pretty good too. I’ve definitely seen a few bad reviews, but that will happen. We’re not for everyone obviously.
10. HAVE YOU GOT ANY LIVE SHOWS? HOW DO YOU PLAN TO PROMOTE YOUR RELEASE?
So far we’ve done two long North American tours, and working on a couple more. We’re trying to get to Europe this year as well!
11. IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
Duuuude, it would like totally be all like…. DUUUUUDE!
12. WHAT’S THE IDEAL TITLE TO SUM UP THE WHOLE INTRONAUT ESSENCE?
    I don’t get it…
13. WHAT WAS THE WEIRDEST OR FUNNIEST QUESTIONS YOU’VE BEEN ASKED?
    See above.
14. BY THE WAY WHAT DOES YOUR MONIKER MEAN AND HOW HAVE YOU SELECTED IT?
Well I’ll admit it’s a bit goofy. An astronaut travels outer space, Intronaut is the inner traveler. It was the only name we could think of that no one hated at the time!
15. THANK YOU! LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE TO THE METALLERS ALL AROUND THE WORLD…
    Thank you for the support!
