My secret identity? We are not that kind of superheroes.We think that everybody should know who we are, otherwise we won't gain any fame. So we want to reveal our secret identity. We really want the people to know that we are the superheroes that they are talking about. You know this thing with secret identity is a bit boring, you don't get any girls. So to be a Superhero with no secret identity is much more comfortable...

Ah, the full-length album is scheduled to be released in January. So it is almost the same story as the "King Of Fools" CD. You know the record label asked us for a single and because we had a good experience with the "King Of Fools" CD and again we had so many material written we 've decided to release an EP in the price of the single. In general the time was right and our label very positive on doing that and so we 've decided to release it. Also the E.P. works as an indicator for the music direction that we will follow on our upcoming album. The new album will be on the same style with the E.P. with little surprises of course...

Yes this effort started from the "Mandrake" album and through the time we have developed it. We don't want to write the same album again and again. We try to create music that will sound interesting to us too... We want to add new elements to our sound but also to preserve the EDGUY elements. However the second part is easy since we are the same musicians from the start till now. I believe that is interesting for us and for the people that follow us in all of our career to see how the band developed through the years...

Well do you know he-men? Well I am the man at arms. I am the thinker that invents all these little machines and I've also got a kind of photo-eye and I can watch women beneath their clothes. So, I am pretty satisfied with my super powers because in my common life, when I am not on a mission to save people, it can be a lot of fun!!!

Yeah, but on the other hand people who followed us through the years, they know that we are posers... It is not necessary to write it on the album cover. Well, the painter is Axel Herman. We worked with him before, he did some merchandising artwork for us and he also works on the comics for the German warcraft magazines. So since he was in the comics business and he liked the idea to paint us as superheroes. Since the beginning we saw some scetches that he did, we like them and we kept him working with us...   With the cover we also want to show to the people that we are not taking ourselves too serious, it's kind of irony... So we don't want the fans to take to serious the title and the cover of the album...

First of all it will be a video-clip for the superheroes song in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound. We have also included 3 live songs that we have recorded them last year in Sao Paolo and also a lot of bonus material, like a studio documentary, making of the video clip and a tour report... This DVD release it will be on the price of the DVD single and it will have duration of almost 80 minutes...So I believe that people who love the band will like the DVD. Especially the behind the scenes material.

I think it comes out naturally out of Tobi. Well you know, besides the AVANTASIA album that has a complete story and was a concept album, he always writes lyrics about whatever comes to his mind. He always picks topics that are interesting to him or are into his mind. He doesn't always complain in his lyrics about the problems that we confront in our everyday life, but he also wants to pass some very positive messages... So if you want to write about things that you want to improve, you have to talk to the people about them, but you must not give them the solution. Everybody should find the solution on their own. Except for that you also must have humour cause helps you to see even in negative situations something positive. That's very important to us and we want to have very positive messages in our lyrics.

So, let's start with the first song of this mini-CD which is superheroes. Well this song has a kind of party lyrics. It talks about going out and have fun... The James Bond like theme that we put on the beginning of this song was an idea of our producer. It sounded funny to us and we 've decided to keep it. "Spooks In The Attic", well is...how to describe it... hmm is a kind of autobiographic song about Tobi and the band. It talks about how some people accuse you if you have some weird ideas. "Blessing In Disguise" has typical ballad lyrics. It is about love, feelings and that kind of stuff. Even the warriors of steel have to cry sometimes..."Judas At The Opera" This song lyric-wise, is one my favourites in this E.P. it is talking about some people on the rock ,',' roll and metal scene. You know that most of the people like this kind of music mostly because it talks about the feeling of freedom and to do whatever you like...I am talking about the rebel attitude that comes from heavy metal and rock'n'roll music. On the other had, though, if you do something that the heavy metal fans don't expect, then there are some people in the scene that start to complain. It's a little bit weird cause on one side heavy metal is about freedom and on the other hand many pople start to complain as soon as you do something that they don't expect. Also Michael Kiske participates in this song and it is a typical metal song, although that Michael doesn't wants to do that kind of music. But I think he liked the music of the song and the lyrics because they fit to him.... "The Spirit" is a MAGNUM cover song from the album "Chasing The Dragon". Ah, by the way the album is quiet ready and will be released somewhere in the middle of January...

Ah Yeah, but not only. For me to tell you the truth it's hard to say which is the new element in our compositions. We just enter into the rehearsal room and we start composing the new material and then playing it and if we like it we don't analyse it to much...Simply, if you listen to something and you like it then is good or else you have to write an other song...But it always difficult to say from where the influences are coming from, since everyone in the band listens to different kind of music. So we simply compose music and we do what we think that is right and it's nice to see that most of the times the fans agree with us.

No, not at the moment. We are up to finish the new album and after do that, we have plans for the next tour. For now we don't have the time to do something outside from the band. It is too soon to talk about AVANTASIA. I don't if there will be another part... I just know that for the moment Tobi is not into doing another project like this one. But you know never say never... you don't know what is going to happen in 10 years from now... The sure thing is that EDGUY will continue to record albums...

Oooh!!! This idea is very good, but we have to invent a complete story about that...

Well. We actually have that kind of story and you can see it on our "SUPERHEROES" DVD, but well that’s a kind of real-life documentary that you can see there. Basically the idea would be really nice to do a comic book and maybe we can do our T.V. series out of it. Maybe, I don't know... Maybe we should discuss it with the rest of the band :) 

My all time favourite superhero? hmm, I don't know...I would say that maybe it's BATMAN... I think BATMAN is more metal, the way he is dressed in black...

12.BY THE WAY, DO YOU READ BOOKS OR WATCH MOVIES? CAN YOU TELL ME ONE BOOK YOU READ RECENTLY AND A MOVIE TOO THAT YOU LIKED A LOT AND WHY?

Yes, I read books and watch movies, but honestly I prefer watching movies. Reading is too exhausting. Well, I read a lot when I am on tour, but when I am home I prefer to watch movies... Well, lately I have seen the movie "SIN CITY" and it was very interesting. Honestly I have to watch it a couple of more times If I really want to say something about the movie, because it is pretty weird. I also have seen some movies on the airplane when we were flying to the States, but I don't remember anything hehehe... I don't think that they were that good...

I remember people have been really loud and having great hotel rooms hehehe...I remember that we played almost 2 hours and the people couldn't get enough...
