Human Factory
Dead Human Factory is a
young Greek band delivering groovy death metal and after a couple of demos,
they recently released their mini CD, "Demons Exhort Me To Hang Myself",
making little steps in order to earn the recognition and support of the
extreme metallers. If you really like what you do, then I'm sure that you'll
also find people that share the same passion with you!
1. HELLO! FROM THE PICTURES I SAW ON YOUR
NEW MINI –CD, I BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE SOME LINE-UP CHANGES. CAN YOU TELL
ME WHO LEFT AND WHO STAYED? WHICH WERE THE REASONS THAT LED SOME MEMBERS
TO DEPART FROM THE BAND?
Hi Nick! First of all, our bassist and drummer
left the band and they have been replaced by John (drums) and Helen (bass
guitar). Helen came after the recordings of our miniCD were over. The reasons
for this line up changes are various, but first and foremost I focus on
each person’s character and then on their talent. Some of the previous
member are still close to the band and help it from another angle, but
with other members that we have no contact anymore.
2. SO WILL YOU CONTINUE AS A 2 MEMBERS BAND OR
ARE YOU STILL IN SEARCH OF NEW MEMBERS? WHO PLAYED THE DRUMS IN YOUR NEW
RELEASE?
Dead Human Factory consists of me (vocals/guitar),
John (drums) and Helen (bass guitar). The drums on this mini CD have been
played by John.
3. MOST OF THE SONGS ON YOUR NEW MINI-CD WERE
ALREADY INCLUDED IN PREVIOUS RELEASES OF YOURS. SO WHY DID YOU INCLUDE
THEM ONCE AGAIN INSTEAD OF ADDING SOME NEW COMPOSITIONS? HAVE YOU CHANGED
THEM A BIT OR ARE THEY THE SAME AS IN THE PREVIOUS RELEASES?
Three of the four songs appearing on this
mini CD also exist on our debut demo CD. As for “Pain Domain” well this
was also featured in an older compilation. The reason why we re-recorded
them is because we wanted to change their style and sound. We wanted to
make them groovy death metal, something that we didn’t manage to do previously.
4. WHICH ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM YOUR NEW RELEASE?
DO YOU EXPECT THAT IT WILL ATTRACT THE INTEREST OF LABELS OR YOU DON’T
REALLY CARE ABOUT THAT?
What interests us the most is to have a nice
time with what we do and to be proud of our work. Now if a label shows
any interest in us that would be really nice. If not, we won’t mind since
we have a great time together!
5. YOU HAVE CHANGED MANY TIMES YOUR STYLE. WHY
DID THIS HAPPEN? AREN’T YOU AFRAID THAT THIS MIGHT CONFUSE THE PEOPLE THAT
FOLLOWED THE BAND FROM THE START TILL NOW?
The first demo CD sounded as it did because
we had no previous studio experience and the producer didn’t help us at
all!!! Both the second demo CD and this mini CD are close musically speaking,
since we realize that what we enjoy playing the most is groovy death metal.
If someone listens to our music and likes it, he will get them without
caring whether there are differences in our style or not.
6. IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN IN YOUR LYRICS YOU LIKE
TO WRITE ABOUT GORE STORIES. HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT OF WRITING MORE REALISTIC
LYRICS? DO YOU THINK THAT THEY WILL FIT TO YOUR MUSICAL STYLE?
No, you are not mistaken! Our lyrics have
an intense splatter theme, but this doesn’t mean that all our songs deal
with gore topics. On this mini CD the song “J. S (Eaten…)” is a true story
about a Russian cannibal who in 1996 killed and ate some people. However,
as you can see we are once again back to splatter topics. Hahahaha!
7. I THINK THAT YOU ALSO ARE BIG FANS OF SIX FEET
UNDER, SO LET’S SUPPOSE THAT THEY TELL YOU TO TAKE PART INTO A TRIBUTE
FOR THEIR BAND. WHICH SONG OF THEIR WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO COVER AND WHY?
First of all we’d like to participate in a
tribute to Six Feet Under and if the band proposed our taking part, this
would be a great honor for us! Yes, Six Feet under is our biggest influence
and in the few shows we’ve played so far we cover “Lycanthropy” from their
incredible debut album. So, in this imaginary tribute this would be the
song that we’d love to cover.
8. HOW DID THE PRESS AND FANS ACCEPT YOUR PREVIOUS
AND NEW RELEASE? IF YOU RECEIVE MORE BAD REVIEWS THAN GOOD, WILL THIS SITUATION
DISCOURAGE YOU OR NOT?
We’ve listened to various comments on our
works, others are positive and others are negative (without ever being
insulting though). We respect every point of view and we try to constantly
improve, without being got down from anybody or anything.
9. DO YOU REMEMBER A REVIEW THAT YOU READ AND
PISSED YOU OFF? WHY? WHAT WAS THE MOST FLATTERING COMMENT YOU READ ABOUT
YOUR MUSIC?
We mainly focus on the negative reviews to
see if they have a point in what they say. I don’t agree with some of them,
especially when they change the style we play. However, I agree with other
reviews we receive, since I’m the first one to trace our mistakes. Generally
I didn’t get upset or angry with any review so far.
