Done
Damage Done is a band that
wants to create emotive and passionate music, compositions that transfer
thoughts and feelings to the listeners and surround them with a bittersweet
calmness. The band no longer exists or to be more precise only Theodosis
is left from the original line up and he tries to recreate the band. So,
here is what Theodosis and Nick, a former band member, told us about the
band and their music...
1. FIRST OF ALL GIVE US A SHORT BAND BIO AND
PRESENT THE CURRENT LINE UP TO THE READERS?
Because most of Damage Done's members had
a job or other bands and didn't have much time to continue with this project
we decided to split up. I, Theodosis, will continue with Damage Done, but
with different musicians. We are all very good friends and we didn't fight
at all.
2. WHICH ARE THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU PROUD OF
IN DAMAGE DONE AND WHICH ARE YOUR AIMS WITH THIS BAND?
It's actually not a matter of pride but feeling
satisfied that we accomplished the cd because it was very hard work and
lots of dedication to the music. Our aim of course is for this cd to be
heard.
3. DAMAGE DONE IS A VERY NICE MONIKER AND QUITE
DEPRESSIVE AND PESSIMISTIC I'D SAY. HOW AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE IT? WHAT
DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?
We chose it for those who thought that playing
music would be harmful for us. So Damage is Done, we've ruined our lives
and we can't stop doing it!
4. I THINK MUSIC ABOVE ALL AND FOREMOST IS FEELINGS,
EMOTION, THOUGHTS, IDEAS. HOWEVER, I THINK THAT FEW ARE THE BANDS THAT
CONTINUE "TREATING" MUSIC THIS WAY. YOU BELONG TO THOSE FEW. WHY? WHAT'S
MUSIC FOR YOU?
We don't belong anywhere, we just use music
to express how we feel and use the sounds that best mix in with how we
feel. Music for us is like what water if for fish.
5.MUSIC IS OFTEN A WAY TO HEAL YOUR WOUNDS OR
COMMUNICATE YOUR FEELINGS TO OTHERS. AREN'T YOU AFRAID THAT YOU BECOME
VULNERABLE THIS WAY?
All human beings love and hurt and that doesn't
mean to be vulnerable. To hurt is not a weakness but an opportunity to
learn to evolve and understand love.
6."STORIES NEVER TOLD" IS A GREAT PIECE OF DARK
AND MELANCHOLIC MUSIC MIXED WITH SOME ALTERNATIVE ROCK TINGES. HOWEVER,
LET?S SUPPOSE THAT YOU WERE ASKED TO WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT IT. WHAT WOULD
YOU SAY TRYING TO BE AS OBJECTIVE AS POSSIBLE?
We cannot do a review of our music because
we love what we do and that comes out in our music. It's like asking to
review our love.
7.THE DUAL MALE AND FEMALE VOCALS ARE SIMPLY MAJESTIC
AND CREATE REALLY STRONG IMAGES TO THE LISTENERS. I THINK THEY ARE REALLY
IMPORTANT FOR DAMAGE DONE. SO, DO THEY INCARNATE DIFFERENT PERSONS? DO
THEY PLAY SOME ROLES WHEN THEY SING? IF YES, WHICH ARE THESE ROLES?
The vocals are the roles of the experience
that the singers had. The lyrics were written by the vocalists. However
the crossover between both vocalists was done in such a way to express
this dark soul nite.
8.COULD YOU PLEASE NAME SOME OF YOUR MOST BELOVED
BANDS AND ALBUMS? WHO WERE THE MUSICIANS THAT HELPED YOU REALIZE THIS IS
THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT EXPRESSES YOU THE MOST?
Some of our favourite bands are Anathema,
Sentenced, Pink Floyd, Pain Of Salvation, Whitesnake.
9.WHAT'S THE BEST AND WHAT'S THE WORST PART IN
YOUR MUSIC, ACCORDING TO YOU?
We believe that in many ways we are lucky
to have produced this cd in sierra sound studios and to have alex <buttons>
make the production. There are no good or bad things about our music for
us. It's just us.
10.ARE THERE ANY ELEMENTS YOU'D LIKE TO ADD IN
YOUR MUSIC OR EXPERIMENT WITH IN THE FUTURE?
There are many things that we would like to
experiment with in the future, especially with different choices that have
to do with our sound.
11.TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT YOUR LYRICS. WHAT
KIND OF THINGS INTRIGUE YOU TO TALK ABOUT? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM?
Nick Kappas is responsible for the lyrics
which come from his personal experiences.
12.WHAT KIND OF FEEDBACK HAVE YOU RECEIVED TILL
NOW? WHAT WAS THE BEST AND WHAT WAS THE WORST COMMENT YOU HAVE RECEIVED?
We really haven't had any negative comments.
13.HAVE YOU SENT YOUR DEMO TO ANY LABELS? ARE
YOU IN TOUCH WITH ANY OF THEM FOR A POSSIBLE CONTRACT? WITH WHICH CRITERIA
WILL YOU SIGN TO A LABEL?
We are in the process of searching for a record
label and we are in touch with them.
14.IF YOUR MUSIC WAS AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT
BE? IF IT WAS A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
If it was an emotion it would express a dark
period that the soul could have, if it was a painting we would say rough
seas and stormy nights.
15.WOULD YOU LIKE TO COMPOSE THE SOUNDTRACK FOR
A MOVIE? IF YES, WHICH MOVIE WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?
Yes of course we would like to compose music
for soundtracks. Probably something like Monster, Mystic River, pay it
forward with Kevin Spacey.

We believe that the people who buy this cd
should get to know the band better.
17.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS? WHAT
DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER TO THOSE THAT WILL ATTEND IN ONE OF YOUR GIGS?
No plans for live gigs yet but soon there
will be. The ex-musicians from DamageDdone also play gigs with other bands.
