Autere is a new rising star in the modern melodic death metal scene... A band that can't be left unsigned for too long, a band that will behead you with their interaction and the impact their music is going to have on you! Finland gives birth not only to melodic bands, but it's also a good cradle for extreme metal music. Read below what the band answered to our questions, get informed and have a good laugh with their funny and crazy answers!

1. FIRST OF ALL, GIVE US A SHORT BAND BIO BY POINTING OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT ACHIEVEMENTS AND MOMENTS OF THE BAND UP TO DATE. WHAT’S THE CURRENT LINE UP?
    First achievement was that we weren’t so drunk and we started to play music. But seriously, in 2002 Juha-Matti Helmi and Jaakko Pellotsalo started by playing some covers. And they sucked together, so they had to get some better players in the band so that they could eventually leave the band for the better players, and they are:

    Guitars: Petri Huhtala
    First we recorded a demo in January 2004, and then June 2005 Lines & Fragments EP in the Popstudio with Mika Haapasalo. 
2. WOW! YOU ARE A FINNISH BAND AND AMONGST THE VERY FEW FROM YOUR COUNTRY THAT PLAY EXTREME MUSIC AND NOT THE STRATOVARIUS OR NIGHTWISH KIND OF MUSIC. HOW HAVE YOU MANAGED TO AVOID THE “SIRENS” OF POPULARITY? ?
    Well, there is lots of our kind of small, and not so small “extreme” bands in Finland, sometimes we feel like we have not enough air to breathe. We don`t play Stratovarius or the Nightpiss kind of music because they sound like totally fuckin` gay. There is no reason to play that kind of music if it`s not our “thing”.
3. SERIOUSLY NOW, I’D BE REALLY INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT WHICH THE THINGS YOU FIND APPEALING AND INTRIGUING IN THIS GENRE THAT YOU DON’T FIND IN OTHERS ARE? DO YOU LISTEN TO OTHER METAL BRANCHES BESIDES DEATH METAL AND HARDCORE?
    We play what we feel. We don`t think in the rehearsal base like “..ok boys, lets play some  Iron maiden kind-of-riffs for that song and for that song” everything we do, comes naturally… or so we like to think…All lads like to listen to all kind of music, not only death, thrash metal music.  For example Jemmy listens music from Kate Bush to Cannibal Corpse, and all what is in between. 
4. IF YOU WERE GIVEN THE CHANCE TO REVIEW AND PRESENT “LINES & FRAGMENTS” TO THE METALLERS, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY, TRYING TO BE AS OBJECTIVE AS POSSIBLE?
    BUY IT OR DIE, IT WILL RIP YOUR BALLS TO THE WALLS! YEEEEEEHAAAAAA ! 
5. YOUR SOUND LIES SOMEWHERE BETWEEN MELODIC DEATH METAL AND HARDCORE. HOWEVER, THE VOCALS ARE MORE BRUTAL THAN THE USUAL ONES (OF THESE 2 GENRES), REACHING THE AMERICAN DEATH METAL BRANCH. WHY? FURTHERMORE, WHY DO YOU USE THE CLEAN VOCALS? WHAT DO BRUTAL AND CLEAN ONES STAND FOR WITHIN THE SONGS?
    Different vocal styles reflect the emotions, and in our music there is lots of different moods, like “when I get that feeling, I GOT that feeling” you know.
6. TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE LYRICS OF THE EP. WHAT KIND OF TOPICS INTRIGUE YOU TO TALK ABOUT?
    Jemmy: Mostly I write about people, places, feelings and machines. Example the “surveillance system” tells about the surveillance system literally. I don`t care shit about metaphorical lyrics like some fucking Deftones. I want to tell straight what I want to tell. 
7. NOW, DESCRIBE THE COVER ARTWORK. WHAT DOES IT SHOW? HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH IT? WHAT’S ITS CONNECTION WITH THE ALBUM’S TITLE?
    The cover art shows a reflection of our music. Everyone can make their own interpretation of it but this is what we see in it: Crunch, brutality and edge. And that’s also the connection to our music. Super-fucking-heavy!!!
8. WHAT WAS THE MOST FLATTERING COMMENT AND WHAT REVIEW YOU THINK WAS UNFAIR TO YOUR MUSIC? ARE YOU GEENRALLY SATISFIED BY THE FEEDBACK?
    The most flattering comment was from you guys saying that we are the next melodeath sensation. Everyone has their own opinion of our music. Some like, some don´t. We are satisfied from the feedback.
9. HAVE YOU SENT “LINES & RAGMENTS” TO ANY LABEL? ARE YOU UNDER NEGOTIATIONS WITH ANY? WITH WHAT CRITERIA ARE YOU GOING TO SIGN TO ONE?
    Yes, of course we have sent it. No further comments.
10. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS? WHAT SHOULD THE FANS EXPECT TO SEE IN ONE OF YOUR GIGS? 
    We have a new guitarist (Petri Huhtala) and two drummers on our next gigs. And of course relentless headbanging.
11. WHAT NEW OR FRESH DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER TO THE SCENE? WHY DO YOU THINK METALHEADS SHOULD CHECK YOU OUT?
    Of course this scene is quite worn out, but we hope we can bring some fresh blood to it. It’s not impossible cause we’re all young, aggressive metal-heads full of enthusiasm.
12. IF YOUR MUSIC WAS AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE? IF IT WAS A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
    Emotion: Pressure in guts, aggression, vulgarity.
    Painting: Britney speared, impalement, eaten by carnivore and bio-mechanical landscape.
13. IF YOU COULD INVITE FAMOUS MUSICIANS TO PARTICIPATE IN YOUR LIVE SHOWS, WHO WOULD YOU SELECT AND WHY?
    Stevie Wonder, because he doesn´t judge a book by its cover.
