Marionette Grin
Staring out from emptiness
Can you see me?
Hear my frozen scream
See my frozen tears

Look past the shell
Try to feel the core
Can you try?
Did you try?

Or is all you bother to see the marionette
That is presented to the audience
Moving, speaking, all in conformation
Grinning?

Flopped down in a corner
Do you care? Will you?
When the strings are pulled, my arm is raised
The play begins again

A careless gesture dismisses all
A meaningless embrace, an unfeeling kiss
All the emptiness and helplessness
That goes into the marionette's grin

Or maybe there should be a flight
A final flight into the oblivion
Smash my face on the pavement
Mark the end of another useless puppet's grin
