The Village was by no means a bad movie, but it could be summed up by one word: Disappointing.

M. Night Shyamalan (director, Sixth Sense, Signs) is a very acclaimed director, but what went wrong? I have a
slight problem with the twist toward the end of the Movie. However, the movie is still quite exciting up until that point. Just for that, it is worth watching.

The Movie starts out in a small village located in an 1800s setting. Mysterious occurances have been noted all around the village. For example, small animals were found murdered in a very cruel and unusual way, loud shreaks and roars were heard in the nearby woods, and red marks were placed on every resident's door which, apparantly, was some sort of warning.

"Who is doing this?"
"What is the future of the village and its inhabitants?"
"Why are these things happening?"
"When will these fearful actions stop?"
"Are the residents in danger?"

Why are you asking me these questions when you can go out and see it yourself. I said that this movie was a disappointment, not a failure as a movie. As my rating says, it is average, but that is not necessarily a very bad thing. If you are a suspense fan, you should probably see this movie. If you are anybody else, you will probably understand and enjoy this movie, but never want to watch it again.
