THE LITTLE COUNTRY HOME--By Ramona-- I was about 14 when I first discovered that I had, what I like to call "house pchychometry". My uncle and his family bought a rambling old farm in the country in a neighboring county. The house was in need of repair, but it came with a good price tag, $15,000. I remember the first time I saw it. We went for a ride out in the country and decided to drive by it. My first impression of it was a quick and snippy one. I really think I made my aunt mad when I said,"You're not going to move into it like that, are you?" Needless to say, they moved into it "like that." My first impression of the inside was a bad one. This was the first of many. The moment I stepped into it, I was stunned. The house wasn't in that bad of a shape on the inside, but no matter where I stood in it, it was cold. I was constantly being scolded for complaining about it. Eventually, I had to be forced to go into it. I remember one night my parents were spending the night there to go to church the next day. I felt like a fool then, but when I look back on it, I don't think the same way. When I was informed of the decision, my mom thought that I would be excited and I was, but not in a good way. I started babbling about an old man had died there. He didn't want any of us there. He was mad that he had to die and leave his home. He was mad at his widow for selling the house. He was trying to talk to me. I described him in detail. I began to shake all over uncontrollabley. I remained shaking all that night. I never slept at all. I shook like I was in the antarctic. My uncle told me the next day that I could stay home if I wanted to. I didn't have to put on such a show, just because I didn't want to go to church. But that was not the point. I wanted to go to church. It was the house that bothered me. Other times while I was there I began to run high fevers, only to get better upon leaving. My uncle and aunt laughed at me until one day my aunt cleaned out an attic room to make room for a potential nursery. The lady that had sold the house to them had left a lot of junk behind. In that junk was a few startling revelations. My aunt found a picture of a dark haired man. The picture was about fifty years old. It had a date on the back. Surprisingly it was the same date that my aunt and uncle had signed the final papers on the sale of the house. Another thing she found was a letter that was signed by the old ladies husband. It was a letter to her stating that she was to never sell the house in any event. She was to let the house go to their eldest son and to be passed along after that. My aunt took the picture to the woman that sold them the house and she identified him as her husband. It was taken on the day that they met. Later on my aunt tried to consult a quija board to find out more about this man, but my uncle wouldn't let the plaquet do its work. He also balked at any attempt at a seance always acting silly when any was attempted. They decided to tear down the house after many ghostly events happened. The mistake they made was to build the new house using some of the woodwork from the other. The events began again. They, then, decided to move back to the city and leave whatever was there to itself. Shortly after the new owner's took over the place it burned to the ground of an undetermined reason. There is no sign of it today. The lot where it stood is just a barren ground. I have had many "sensings" since then, but nothing as profound as this. I believe it is because I have learned to expect and thus control what I receive.

THE HEADLESS DOG--by Ramona--This strange and kind of funny event happened about two years ago. I and my daughters were watching a David Copperfield special that happened to deal with ghosts. When it came to the part where he was doing a trick with a steeple off of an old bordella that had once burned down a chain of strange events began. As we sat watching the show, all of a sudden the light fixture in the kitchen fell to the table. As it did, the light bulb burst. At the same time the phone rang. The light fixture that had plummeted to the table fell on a ceramic dog that my daughter had made in art class. The light fixture is a round white glove made of glass. When it fell on the ceramic dog the globe never shattered. It fell from a distance of about 6 feet. The head of the dog was not so lucky. It broke off at the neck. The odd thing was that, to this day, we have found no trace of that head, anywhere and we have looked hard for it. There was no fragments, dust, or any sign of it. When the phone rang there was only static on the other end. We have a caller ID box and nothing came across it and it rang enough times. I have kept the ceramic dog and display it every Halloween. I have made a sign for it that says, "The dog that lost its head over David Copperfield."

A LADY IN BLACK--by Gordon Suncroft--My dad, my brother, and I were working on a house. We had completed putting the siding on the south side of the house and moved to the north side. My dad drove a 20 ton terex loader to the north side and parked it in front of the kitchen window. I climbed in to the bucket and he lifted me to the roof, so we could begin roofing it. On the way up I saw what appeared to be an elderly lady in a black floral dress. I didn't think much about it. A few days later my dad saw this lady and asked my brother to go tell her that we would be shutting the water off. My brother didn't see anyone in the house, so I went in and checked. I, too, did not see anyone. I went back outside and in the kitchen window was the same elderly lady I saw earlier. My dad and I got into a discussion and he said he had seen her, too. My brother also claimed to have seen her in the kitchen window a few hours prior to the second sighting that I had. Yet nobody was in the house.

A VISITOR FROM ANOTHER TIME--by Gordon Suncroft--It was after a rumble in which my friend got shot. My friend was taken to the hospital by a fellow gang member. I was the only one left where the rumble had happened. A short muscular kid about 5'3" appeared out of nowhere. He shook my hand and said, "My name is Smacks Kelly, and I will see you again." Normally, I would have brushed this off. A few days later I learned, when I was looking for the kid, that he had died there about a decade earlier in a rumble. I haven't seen him, yet, but I do think I'll see him again.

THE LOCKOUT GHOST-By Ramona--It was in June of 1993. It was a hot night. I couldn't sleep because, once again, I was worried about the outcome of the lockout of my husband's job. It was entering its second month and things were pretty tense. When I heard a distant thunder storm I felt a little comfort. I guess it's kind of weird, but I love to listen to thunder storms and watch the lightning out the window as it flashes across the sky. I thought that the lightning flashes might help me go to sleep, so I rolled over from my right side to the left to look out the window. As I did I got the shock of my life. Standing in the shadows was a very tall man dressed in army fatigues. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up to his elbows and I could see his dark hair was combed to the side. He began reaching for the night stand with both hands. As his face was ready to pass into the window to where his features could be revealed, I shouted a line of explicatives. This awoke my sleeping husband that demanded to know what was wrong. I said, "A man was standing there!" He asked me if I meant outside the window and I said, "No! Right there by the window." He immediately layed back down and told me that I had been dreaming. It was NO dream. I hadn't been asleep. The rest of the night I slept fitfully afraid that the army ghost might return. After this began having trouble with the second hand phone that was on the night stand that night and decided to throw it out. Out of couriosity I peeled the label off of its dial. Under the label was the name "Summer's Funeral Home."

A MESSAGE FROM BEYOND-by Trixie Geisler

First let me start by saying that my uncle Douglas had this best friend, his name was Ronnie, that he loved more than life, he was like a brother to him. He got a long better with him than he did his REAL 3 brothers. Well one day my uncle and his friend and one of my uncle's cousins decided to go to this lake called Fort Sumner Lake and it had a huge water fall that people would go down it into the water and swim, but a lot of people have had accidents on that water fall. They ended up banning the water fall to pedestrians after too many deaths and accidents kept happening. On that day that the three went to the lake Ronnie never came back. He drowned that day :(. My uncle was absolutely devastated and holed himself up in his room for weeks. One day my mom said that my uncle came to her and told her that something amazing happened. He seemed so happy, happier than he had been since Ronnie died. My uncle said that he was sitting in his room at his desk and he had a paper on the desk and his hand was on the pap er with a pencil in it, and the pencil just started moving and the words "I'M HAPPY" were written on it. He doesn't remember writing it at all. After that day my uncle finally returned to the land of the living. OKAY so that was that incident, now here's another. When my brother was about 8 years old we were at my grandmothers house, this was a little while after Ronnie died that this happened. My brother was in the bathroom going poop and he had the door open, he said that he seen a green fog coming from the hallway and it walked into my uncle's room and disappeared. My brother was so scared that he just got off the toilet with his pants down and ran to my grandfather screaming. Later it was a huge joke about him going poop and him seeing green fog ahahahahahhahaa, but my brother swears to this day that it was the spirit of Ronnie. Ohhhh and my mom was pregnant with my little sister when Ronnie died and my uncle asked her if she would name the baby after Ronnie, so my mom had my sister and named her Ronnica. My whole family thinks that my sister is the reincarnation of Ronnie because Ronnie had red hair, my sister has red hair, Ronnie was a straight A student and smart, my sister was a straight A student and smarter than me and my brother *smirk*. No one else in our family has red hair and we don't know where my sister got the red hair from. Isn't that just sooooo weird?

A VISIT FROM LUCIFER-By Carolyn Palmer

I've never been one to be too religiously reverent. So, one night (I think I was about 14 or 15) I'd watched a movie about devil worship, and in this movie, the characters got everything you could humanly want -- beauty, wealth, success etc. So, being the smart ass I was, I started chanting "Lucifer, Lucifer, come to me" over and over. Both my parents were present and pi$$ed at me, and kept saying for me to stop. All at once, the power failed (it wasn't storming, and there was no reason for it) and I was plunged in total blackness. I'm sure it was my imagination, but I FELT something. I was scared sh!tless, did a 360 degree turnaround, and started absolutely SHOUTING my "Hail Marys" :-) The power came back on, and we never did know what caused the failure. While I'm still dubious about the whole afterlife question, I've never, ever prayed to the devil again. I figure better safe than sorry :-)

DOCTOR ANGEL-by Trixie Geisler

My grandfather was in World War II and he was shot by a sniper, once in the stomach and the other one hit his testicle and blew it off :(. Well he was in the hospital and he was near death, he said he looked up and seen this man standing in front of him and he had white hair and a long white gown on. My grandfather thought it must be one of the doctors or nurses. The man held my grandfather's hand and he said "Stacy, it is not your time to go yet." Then my grandfather fell back unconscious and the next morning a doctor came into his room and my grandfather asked about the doctor that was on call that night that had long white hair and the doctor looked at him and said "There was no doctor on call last night Mr. Miller." My grandfather believes that either Jesus or an angel came to him in the night. What do yall think?

THE INDIAN APPARITION-By Jolie

I really can't stay cause my husband is being a brat (as a warned earlier :) ) But tbis was my experience with seeing what could have been a ghost. This was also at Asilomar (I found I had most of my experiences there, I think the whole area just had so much psychic energy, that that is why) we were in a conference, this small room and this guy was talking about Indian traditions and such, and it might have been power of suggestion, but I felt a hand on my shoulder and when I turned to it, it was a tall indian, in full dress standing behind me and smiling, and when I opened my mouth to say something, he just put his finger to his lips, perhaps telling me not to say anything and directing me to pay attention to the speaker and so I turned away, and then I turned back and the apparition was gone.

A SPIRIT PASSING THROUGH-by Jolie

OK I can't remember this totally cause it was a while back. I used to go to this conference center/campground every year at Asilomar (a place in Monterey, CA) with an organization called A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightment), one night, when everyone had gone to sleep, our group went into the main conference hall, gathered together on the stage in a circle and started to try to call up spirits. We all started to feel a bit cold, even though it was a very warm night and very hot in the conference hall. One of the girls thought she felt a hand on her shoulder and insisted on leaving, so she and another guy got up and left. The rest of us stayed and waited and concentrated and one of the older women started talking in a very deep voice, very different from her own, broken sentences about how we need to learn, we need to choose, we need to think. We tried to ask questions about what that meant, what we need to learn and choose and think but she just kept repeating it, then we all felt a presence jump within us, kinda like a wind knocking out of you and then it passed to each in the circle and then it was gone. When it was passing through us, I think it was looking for someone willing to have them stay with them to talk, cause a lot of us were really scared, I know I was, and when it hit me I was just freaked out with a kinda "get this thing out of me" (I was only like 14) but it passed through each person until I guess it found a willing vessel. :)

THE SAVIOR SPIRIT-by Carolyn Palmer

Actually, I've never had too much paranormal experiences, so the one I relate here is one told by my mother. My brother and I were kids and we were supposed to go to a big lake the next day with some neighbors. My mother awoke in the night to see a man standing beside the bed, he had long dark hair, and was dripping wet as though he had been standing in the rain. My mother could clearly remember seeing the water drip from his hair and nose. He told her "keep your kids at home tomorrow". She screamed bloody murder, and my father woke up and of course, the man was gone. She told my father what had happened, and he said, "oh, it was just a dream, it's not even raining" and all at once it began to rain outside SO HARD, it was pounding on the windows and roof. They jumped out of bed, searched the house, and found no sign of anything, but my mother refused to let my brother and I go on the trip the next day. And, needless to say, there was a serious boating accident, and 8 people were injured in various degrees. Coincidence? Only you can decide :-) In all honesty, while I know this happened, I have a hard time reconciling with these types of stories. Why would someone pre-warn MY mother, and not the other mothers? We were no better to be spared then anyone else.
