• A country of immigrants can not be hostile to immigrants.
• An immigrant is an immigrant is an immigrant.
• You do not have to be an European immigrant to belong.
• You could be Asian, African, Arab, Latin American, and that is all okay.
• The Dean campaign has zero tolerance for racism, inside the Democratic Party and outside.
• We are going to go after the racist organizations, we are going to take legal battles to their homefront, so as to bankrupt them in a concerted way.
• We are going to go after them because they pollute the American Promise.
• Unlike any other country on the face of the planet, America is an idea more than a country. It is an idea, the burning glow of liberty, that every Homo Sapien has a right of access to.
• Spreading democracy all over the world is to welcome immigrants to America. Topple dictatorships not with million dollar bombs for that money might be better spent on inner city schools, but do so by funding and fueling indigenous movements for democracy at costs hundreds of times smaller.
• You can not really export democracy, you can only inspire it, help nurture it.
• Bush went after one dictator, Dean will be going after many, and that without compromising American lives or fiscal sanity.
• I propose the creation of a Global Democracy Fund to that avail. A private, non-profit that goes after the racists at home and the dictators abroad.
