CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Stanley Harper, President, at 8:03 pm.  The call to order was followed by a brief introduction of officers.

MINUTES
Secretary, Teresa Heyworth, presented meeting minutes from March 2, 2006.  There were no corrections, deletions, or additions to the minutes and were therefore accepted as read.

OLD BUSINESS:
A. Book Exchange Cora Grayson presented a general overview of the program. To date approximately $12,000 worth of books have been exchanged.  This event is currently scheduled for Monday, May 22 at 6:30.  If you are unable to make it for the book drop off on this date you can drop books off to Dr. Parkers office during her office hours.  There will be many books available for the fall semester including both general education books as well as books used in the Paralegal Studies program.
B. Benefit Concert Update During our last meeting we voted to do a fundraiser for the Maison Jackson Foundation.  We will be working to engage the Pizzazz Show Choir for a total of 3 performances to be held either during the summer or in the fall.  The choir is currently booked so we wont be able to book them until a later date.  It was agreed that we would have more of a turnout for this event if its scheduled for the fall as opposed to during the summer.
C. Other Judge Roberts of the Frederick County Courthouse has requested this membership come to courthouse to sit in on a proceeding and then have a conversation afterward.  Judge Roberts indicated that Monday is a good day for him and that there are better cases to be heard on Mondays.  This event would involve about 2 or 3 hours of our time.  After a vote it was determined that we would arrange this visit to be held on a Monday morning in early August.  More details will be provided at which time members will be able to reply regarding their interest and availability.

NEW BUSINESS:
A. Committee Reports
Employment & Education Matthew Testa reporting.  Mock interviews were held on 4/22 with a very low turnout.  There were only 2 participants for this event.  Legal Aid staff consisting of 2 attorneys and 3 paralegals in a panel style format conducted the interviews.  Participants were asked questions both technical and ethical in nature.  More efforts needs to be placed on getting the word out about this series of workshops and interviews the next time it is offered.
Public Relations   No report.
Legislative, Rules, Regulations and Procedure Committee No report.
Membership Committee No report.
Student Government Association No report.
B. Announcement This spring semester will be the last for Mark Anders.  Mark has been with this organization from the ground up and without him the program would not exist as it does today.  Mark has been on staff at FCC for the past 7 years and has been involved in the Advisory Committee, contributed to course and curriculum development, and has also been an integral part of the connections and relationships between the Paralegal Student Association and the Frederick County Bar Association.  After the presentation of a gift of appreciation, Mark thanked Dr. Parker and all of the students.  Thank you for all of your support and contributions.
C. Nominations for Officers Stanley provided an overview of his role as President of the organization as well as his role within the Advisory Committee on which he sits.  Other officers also gave a brief overview of their roles and responsibilities to those present.  Nominations for all four officer positions were made and accepted.  Members were given adequate time to cast their vote for new officers and the results were as follows for the 2006 2007 academic year:
President Connie Beall
Vice President Dana Mims
Secretary Lois Temple
Treasurer Dee Patrick
Congratulations to all of the newly elected officers!!
