Witness Justice, a Frederick-based national nonprofit organization assisting victims of violent crime, is offering a student internship for the spring 2006 semester. This is an unpaid internship with flexible hours.
If you are looking for public relations and nonprofit experience, this may be the perfect match!
Experience with Witness Justice may include:
� Writing press releases and other PR and marketing materials
� Developing fact sheets and background materials on various issues
� Learning media relations and how to work with reporters
� Marketing basics
� Client communications and standard business practices
� Understanding how public relations in an advocacy capacity
Candidate Criteria
� Self-starter
� Strong writing, editing and research skills
� Some prior coursework in communications, public relations, marketing and/or human
services
� Good organizational skills
� interest in nonprofit and cause-related issues
� Website publishing and management, a plus

Witness Justice is a national, grassroots nonprofit organization created by survivors for survivors and is based in Frederick, MD. Our mission is to empower victims of violence with the tools, information and support to work through the healing process and criminal justice system. Witness Justice provides direct services for victims throughout the country, offering support regardless of where a victim lives, when or where the crime occurred or whether the crime was ever reported.
