Everyone believed that Victoria and Mauricio Castellanos had the perfect marriage; but Victoria lived under the constant torture of her husband's unfounded jealousy. One of Mauricio's clients, the famous painter Julio Granados, was signaled out by destiny to ignite the conflict which, stoked lies and misunderstandings, would derail Victoria's life. Convinced that his wife was being unfaithful to him, Mauricio is consumed by bitterness after learning of her apparent death. However, Victoria survives the terrible accident, and after escaping from the hands of Rex, her deranged captor who mistakes her for his estranged wife, she returns home, only to find that her husband and two children have left the country without leaving a trace.

In her moment of darkest despair, Victoria's hope is rekindled by Rossana and Roman, who make it possible for her to start her search for her lost family. Roman is a handsome young theater producer of Spanish origin who discovers a great acting talent in her and encourages her to join the theatre. In this way, she will be able to travel with the company abroad and have the opportunity to find her missing loved ones.

Ten long years go by, during which Victoria, now known as actress Amparo Rivas, travels around the world enjoying a successful career, always surrounded by numerous admirers and attractive, but never allowing them to get close to her lonely heart. One day, while on tour in Mexico, Victoria takes time out to visit her former home and at last finds a clue that points her to the whereabouts of her family. But what she thinks will be the happiest moment of her life, turns out to be the beginning of an explosive drama filled with shattering revelations, love, betrayal, passion, bitterness, lies, and an ending that will show us that, in this life, there is good, there is bad and there is the unforgivable...
