Laura
was born in August 23, in 1963, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas,
Mexico. Laura's husband is a famous mexican impressario Jose
Ramon Diaz. Laura has got three children - two daughters Maria
del Cielo and Danelle and a son Jose Ramon. Since childhood
Laura's life was influenced by music, as her brothers had a
group called Hermanos y Amigos. At
fourteen, she joined the group starting her artistic career.
The tour took two years and it was through the whole Mexican
Republic. It was really intense but she managed to combine her
career with her high school studies. After three years, she
decided to leave the group and to go into acting. At
seventeen, she started studying acting, singing and dancing at
the Centro de Capacitacion de Televisa (Televisa's
training center), and because of her acting qualities she got
a scholarship to specialize her studies in Los Angeles. Back
at home, she started her career acting in films, theater, and
TV, becoming a young artist with a great acting strength. The
first telenovela of Laura, El combate, was
filmed in 1980.
Restless by nature, this beautiful actress and singer also
worked as a hostess, conducting the contest show La
rueda de la fortuna for two years, becoming the
first woman to host this show, similar to the one known as The wheel of fortune, that has been on the air for
twenty years in the United States. There are a lot of
telenovelas, in which Laura acted. Among them the most
favourite ones are Mi pequena soledad with
Veronica Castro, Marisol with Erika Buenfil
and Eduardo Santamarina, Gotita de amor
with Alex Ibarra, El alma no tiene color
with Arturo Peniche, Siempre te amare with
Fernando Carillo. In 2000-2001, Laura was the host of the
mexican TV show Hoy. This show was
transmitted nationwide by Channel 2 from Monday to Friday and
from 9 am to 12:30 p.m. This is another of Laura’s
achievements, since in only two weeks this show’s rating has
climbed considerably. In 2002 Laura acted in telenovela for
children Complices al rescate with
Francisco Gattorno and Belinda.
