| Washington DC jumps ahead In the voting for the site of the next Dodger reunion, our nation's capital took a significant lead during the month of December. Analysts believe it's because John McCloskey moved here from Asuncion over the summer. Some, particularly those from Austin, complain that the ballot is confusing. Others suspect fraud and fuzzy math. One voter says he attempted to vote for Schenectady, NY, and ended up voting for Washington. "That really sucks" he was quoted as saying. Many of the potential cities have been lobbying the Paraguay Dodger Reunion Site Selection Comittee, but none more than Washington, DC. "It would definately give us an oportunity to showcase the city", said mayor Anthony Williams in a recent Washington Post interview, "and show Major League Baseball that we can support a major league team." The Nation's capital has been without a baseball team since the Senators left long ago, and in recent years has been steping up it's efforts to capture a major league franchise. According to inside sources, however, the election is not over. "When you look at the percentages" said the self-proclaimed Vote Counter and Senior Ellection Official Brian Padden, "It looks like a big lead, but in actual votes, DC is only winning by 3 votes." And the polls are still open for "as long as we want them to be" he said. "And we'll count the votes as many times as we want" added self-proclaimed Deputy Senior Ellection Official Pablo Davis, "until we get the right results. So there's still time to vote. Every vote counts, sometimes more than once. Click here to see the details and to vote again. And again. |
