YJenice Reddick, an Ely High School senior, is truely learning the real meaning of entrepreneurship . Reddick, who has only taken two formal courses related to business, has created her own magazine venture. "The Paradox" magazine orginally started in February 1997, but was known as "The Underground" The August 22nd release party, at Krystal's Nightclub in Ft. Lauderdale, raised enough money to print the first issue, which was released in September. The magazine is distributed about every six weeks in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The magazine is currently available for free and has approximantly 25,000 readers. The Paradox primarily focuses on the five hip-hop elements: emceeing, breakdancing, aerosol artwork, and DJ-ing (disk jockeying). It also features Caribbean culture topics, business advice for the young urban mind, a horoscope called the "Hip-Hoppa Scope<" a poetry section, music reviews, happenings aroundtown, politics for young adults, an advice column, and much more.
