GrassCycling
Cut it and Leave it.
GrassCycling is the natural practice of leaving grass clippings on the lawn after mowing.  Bagging your grass clippings takes extra time and energy.  After collection these clippings are usually hauled to the landfill, at a cost of $23 per ton for the Municipality of Paradise.  GrassCycling can save time, energy, money and landfill space.  Clippings are 80-85% water and quickly decompose, returning nutrients to the soil.  GrassCycling can help reduce water and fertilizer requirements, mowing time and disposal costs.  There is a high cost of filling up our landfill sites with decomposible materials.  If landfill sites life expectancy can be prolonged the economical and environmental gains cannot be measured.
