Bottle drops to the floor, laughter
Envelops her with emotions
Joy from his laugher
Fear because neither has power against this
Anger- he’s always like this
Sorrow, remembering the past
She turns to leave; closes her eyes
His chair scrapes against the floor
She moves her left foot
Then her right
Her eyes flicker open when her hand
Reaches the door
His breath stings her neck
As he searches for the right words
She knows what's coming
The truth will finally get out
Slurred and marred
Truth all the same
Goofy smile on his face, he says it
she turns around
leads him to the couch
shakes her head, crushes her dreams
'If you did, you would've told me
when you were sober'
