 Parachute formed in late 2004, after several failed attempts with various people to form up. We began with three of us: Dave, Steve, and Tom. We played using Tom as lead vocalist until we could find a permanent vocalist. We then accepted DJ as main vocalist, having to part ways due to differences, we switched Steve from drums to vocals, and accepted Jay as our new drummer. Parachute consists of Jay on drums, Tom on guitar, Dave on bass, and Steve on vocals/guitar. We play a pretty diverse mix of music ranging from blistering street punk, to 50's-style rockabilly, to alternative reminiscent of Radiohead and The Cure. Lyrically most of our songs have one of two themes: 1. politics (I know that at least one of use, probably more, cares a great deal about a whole bunch of issues.) and 2. romance. We have a few inside-joke songs that may be explained at a later date. |
