Hello, all!

I just wanted to give everybody an update to what has been happening in the PARACELSUS camp in the past year.

Drummer extraordinaire
Derik Rinehart has decided to part ways with the band, citing that there were too many bands and projects that he was participating in that was taking up too much of his time.  He is now concentrating on his "main" band, now called XL (formerly known as KTM - Kill The Messenger).

Matthew Trautwein is still a member, but due to his other commitments, he will not be an active member in the process of writing of new material; he will only be performing it live.

Both Derik's and Matthew's respective bands are once again performing at this year's
Rogue Independent Music Festival in Atlanta in July of 2003.  Go visit the RogueFest website HERE for more information.

I was personally both surprised and flattered when Jeff had approached me to play bass with his new band in the spring of 2001.  The caliber of the musicians I was to be working with was formidable, indeed...not to mention that they were also my friends!  It was in fact a bit intimidating...but also an honor.

Jeff and myself have long-term plans on writing original material for recording, but the future of subsequent live shows is uncertain, to say the least.  We would greatly prefer a live drummer in both cases.  By the time one is needed, it is entirely possible that Derik may be able to at least record with us...we will just have to see.  If you are a drummer or know of one who may be interested in this style of music, please contact us!

Please keep visiting this website for more updates.  And thank you for your interest!

Greetings!

It has been a while since I gave you all an update on what has been going on in the PARACELSUS camp, so here goes.

Jeff has been working on some new material!  A few weeks ago, in between sets at one of the
ARIA prog-nites, he presented both me and Matthew the score of his latest piece (yet untitled), with the prelude that (and I am paraphrasing, here) "this is as intense as it will get"!

Now I (unfortunately) cannot read music very well at all.  However, I could tell right away that this was some serious stuff!  I can't wait to actually hear it!  I am assuming Jeff is working on polishing up some basic MIDI tracks now.

As I mentioned before, PARACELSUS will, for the time being, exist only as a recording project...once Jeff has enough material to play a full live set of all original music, I would imagine that at that time he will want to start working on a live set again.

In other news...former PARACELSUS drummer/percussionist
Derik Rinehart has had a reorganization of his main band, KTM (Kill The Messenger).  He has a new lead vocalist again, this time in the person of none other than Charles Holmes, bassist/vocalist for Matthew's main band, Karma Lingo!  That, and the band has a (fairly) new name as well...if you recall, last year the band name was changed to XL.

More news as it comes and is fit to print.  Take care!
