My Poetry

Icarus's ascent

I never meant to hurt you
You're as vital as it is to see.
I wish you only knew,
How much your next step means to me.

As badly as I want you,
your happiness comes far before me
Regardless of my wants.
I feel the guilt of my envy.

I've tasted but a sliver,
of the infinite splendor in you.
I think of you always,
wondering what it is I should do.

I'm just a piece of a dream.
A part of which you have always wished.
That is all, nothing more.
This false prince has no magical kiss.

I wish that I could rouse you
from this constant feeling of regret.
I'll shade you from your fear
as we head to the future unmet.

Will you remember me e'er
my babe, my heart, my very soul?
Envision us as we were?
Oh, how it would have felt to be whole...

Riddled

She's got the look of a true sage
and the face of a saint.
She's got a demeanor that's keen
and wholly free of all taint.

She'll make you weep like a child
and then rise like a man.
She'll steer you clear of all your plights
then put you where you began.

She'll show you your demons inside
and the innocence too.
She'll justly right all of your wrongs
and prove that her love is true.

She is the one you most adore
for always being there.
She is the one you won't forget.
The one whom you truly care.
