Bio
Papo Buda came from a family where he was always surrounded by music. His grandfather played a guitar called "The Cuatro" and his father played bass guitar. He began playing with his father at age 12. He started on the guitar until he saw his cousin playing the Timbales and realized that was the instrument for him. His mother bought his first pair of Timbales. He diligently practiced songs by El Gran Combo like "Jala Jala" and "The Boogalu" and soon was approaced by three men who had a Trio & immediately asked him to join their group. After that he played with his father's 5-piece band and continued on to bigger and better bands and has now established himself as one of the premiere percussionist in the Philadelphia area latin music scene.
Papo's playing credits include: La Paz, Panama Y Su Ritmo Caliente, Sonido Tipico, Foto Rodriguez(recorded 2 albums), Orq. La Unica with Pupy Lagareta from Fania All Star. Big name Latin Music Stars such as: Luisito Rosario, Luigi Texidor, Dominic, Maelo Ruiz, Van Lester, Cano Estremera, Nacho Sanabria, Jose Manguar Jr, Hector Tricoche, Anthony Cruz, The Latin Playboys and his boyhood idols El Gran Combo where he soloed on "Timbalero".
Performing locally with his own band Cheche Cole Band, Jimmy Lopez & Masacote, Pablo Batista, Pedro Miguel(recorded one album) Top-Forty bands: Don't Call Me Francis, CTO Manhatten Band and keyboardist/producer:
