| Biography Paper originally started sometime in late 2004. As Brett Borden's solo project, it was called Lmnop back then. Spending a lot of time purchasing used, low quality, and often children's instruments, Brett experimented with different sounds and began recording at home in Schaumburg, IL (a suburb of Chicago) with minimal computer equipment. Eventually making a Myspace for his music, Brett posted a few songs on the internet under the name of Lmnop (el-em-en-oh-pE) with the intentions of getting the music into the ears of the public. Continually writing, Lmnop put out his first release in 2005. It was a six-song record entitled Take Your Picture EP. A few months later in the beginning of 2006, Lmnop released his second record and first full-length album, The 2006 Time Sessions, and began making small performances. Around that time, Brett made the discovery of a Chicago-based band whom already had the name of Lmnop, so he sparked a name-change to Paper. Brett has, since then, somewhat simplified his music to a more acoustic sound and has been working on new music and a third release. |
