| Monday, September 25th - 9:23pm You'll be seeing some changes in this website soon. I'll be editing the layout and all of the artwork. Maybe something a little more colorful. Maybe something much simpler. I'd like to make this site very simple and easy but pleasing to look at. We'll see what happens. Friday, September 15th - 10:16am It's been a good break. I'm still working with the music. I've been writing a lot and structuring a bit. As of now I have a lot more lyrics and poetry than I do music, but hopefully that will change soon. I'm planning on investing in a legal version of Pro Tools and an SM57 so my new songs can be recorded with that. Also, I've been thinking about posting some of my new poetry and lyrics as blogs on my Myspace. Check there occasionally to see if I've put anything up. P.S. If anybody has a used SM57 that they'd be willing to sell me, please email me at [email protected] Thank You Saturday, August 12th - 1:01am I'm taking a break for an indefinate amount of time. I've been thinking about it for a while now and I'm not happy with the way things are going musically with Paper. My older songs are not good and my newer songs (which few people have heard so far) are a small step up, but still not really worth spending time listening to. They don't say what I want them to say and they don't sound how I want them to sound. I need to spend time learning how to more accurately translate my ideas to reality. I've decided to take time off from the public and recording to focus more on what I really want to do with my music. I want to work on creating goals and meeting them to the best of my abilities. The new record that I've been working on for a few months will be scrapped entirely. It's nothing like what I originally had in mind and would probably have been a huge disappointment for anyone who was interested. I don't want to spend any more time making music that I feel is only semi-decent because if I don't like it, why should I expect anyone else to? The songs I have available on Myspace have all been deleted except for one. I don't want to release any more music until I'm happy and proud with what I've made. Give me time. Monday, July 31st - 6:23pm I've kind of been working on music. I've been pretty pre-occupied with my band, The Sepia Tones, lately. We're recording, working on new music, and practicing for upcoming shows, all at the same time. So it's been a bit time consuming. But that's not me complaining. I love that it's time consuming. It's what I want. I really can't wait 'til our record is finished so that we can put it out there and play more shows. Anyhoo, on my own, I guess I'm taking sort of a break. Whatever free time I have musically, I'm puting towards Paper. Other than that, it's mostly The Sepia Tones right now, and I'm enjoying it that way. Also, I just finished my online press kit. So if you're a person who books shows and digs my music, that might interest you. Sunday, July 23rd - 1:26am Hey, I just want to thank everyone who came to Folk Your Date tonight. I thought it was a really cool show and everything went well. Everybody there was really groovy. I never got my free henna tattoo though (sorry to everyone if I spelt henna wrong. I don't know much about "henna," I just thought the free tattoos looked cool). The Folk Your Date t-shirts became so popular that they're on back order now and the original creators have to screenprint more. For the time being, I'll be attempting to finish my record, even though I thought it'd be done a long time ago. I keep getting new ideas and changing my mind about things. At this point, I'm not sure how it's gonna turn out. We'll just have to wait and see. |
