Minutes for the Board Meeting June 2, 2002

The Recording Secretary read the minutes
from the previous meeting and they were accepted by all.
Communications.
None mentioned.
Membership Report:
Six (6) new applications for membership were reviewed during this meeting. When the meeting was adjourned the Executive Board and the Membership Chairman met to vote on the applications. All six (6) were accepted.
Brad York, Gary Reed, Kevin Squires, and Bill Ogonowski were absent from the meeting.
Report of the Committees
None mentioned.
Unfinished Business:
The issue of erecting signs on Rt. 72 and Rt. 6 to locate and promote the PAPC Club & hall was brought up again. More research is required on this issue.
A discussion was held concerning the HVAC system and what is required to make the system operate correctly. An inspection and measurements were taken recently and additional information will be submitted by our HVAC contractor in the near future.
The PAPC window stickers are being designed and ordered. There has been a delay due to the printer being too busy with other larger projects.
We are investigating the cost to place ads in local papers to promote the monthly Steak Suppers.
New Business:
There was a complaint voiced concerning fireworks being launched from the Ponderosa and the subsequent police response. CT State Law prohibits the launching of fireworks without the proper permit.
A motion was made, seconded and accepted to sponsor a Clams and Shrimp Feast on Thursdays. Seafood will be available for sale in the bar.
There have been several recent infractions of not signing in guests properly. Members are responsible for signing in their guests and insuring that the Guest Book is filled out properly.
Treasurer's Report.
The Treasurers report was not submitted due to the absence of our Treasurer.
Good & Welfare:
Thanks to all who donated blood for the Annual Red Cross Blood Drive. 45 Pints were donated. Although this is less than last year (53), it was still an extremely good showing.
Thanks to Steve Tedd for cutting the grass at the Ponderosa, and to Tony Laviero for weed whacking. Thanks to Dave Piotrowski and Norm for cleaning the smoke eaters.
A fundraiser will be held at the club on this Saturday June 8th for the PAPC Softball Team. Tickets are $ 10.00 and include beer and a live band. BYOB
The next Steak Dinner will be held at the club on Thursday, June 13th. Tickets are available for $ 9.00 at the bar or at the door.
A bus trip to Fenway Park is scheduled for a 5:00 PM game, Saturday, September 7th Signup sheet is posted. The trip must be paid for in full at the time of sign-up.
