Minutes for the Board Meeting January 6, 2002
10:01 Meeting Called to Order.
Minutes.
The Recording Secretary read the minutes from the previous meeting
and they were accepted by all.
Communications.
We have received numerous Christmas cards and they are posted on the bulletin board.
We have also received thank you notes from Doris L. and Zack L’s. mother.
Membership Report:
Six (6) new applications for membership were reviewed during this meeting. When the meeting was adjourned the Executive Board met to vote on the applications. All six (6) were accepted.
A motion was made to allow the Membership Committee Chairman to vote on any new member’s to the club. Right now only the Executive board members vote on new members and the Membership Chairman is not on the Executive board. This was seconded and accepted by all. But this requires a Constitutional change. A notice will be put up stating the change which can be voted on at the next meeting at lease 30 days from then.
Report of the Committees
Things to do, no money to do them with.
Unfinished Business:
Keith’s F’s. situation. Our Insurance Company has been notified and the Insurance Investigator has been in contact. From now on it’s mostly out of our hands.
New Business:
Al L. has approached the Club about having a benefit steak dinner once a month for the Club. This would occur on the 2nd Thursday of the month. It would cost $9.00 a dinner and would be open to the public. A motion was made and seconded to allow Al to give this a shot. This was accepted by all.
Giving the Permitee and Treasurer a raise was mentioned. A motion was made to send this to the Executive board for them to review this, decide YES or NO to the raise and how much if the answer is YES. This was seconded and passed with one vote against.
We will make copies of the Club’s Constitution for any member’s who wish a copy.
A discussion about the difference between Board Meeting and Membership Meetings was held.
New Hepa filters for the smoke eaters are being ordered.
Treasurer's Report.
The Treasurer’s report was given and accepted by all..
