Ghana is a very, well
if not beautiful, lovely place to spend time. Most portions of the
country, which is roughly the size of UK at 238,000 sqkm experience summer all
year long. Accra is the capital, boisterous place with almost 2 million
people. Ghana is made up of 10 administartive regions for ease of governance.
Each region has a minister, a government-appointee as the boss. Ghana is
situated in the West Coast of Africa. officially, it is among lowest GDPs in the
world. It makes up for the negativity with a hospitality second to none. The
educated populace speaks english (a colonial hangover) and practices the
presidential democracy system of governance. A lot of Ghanaians have become
famous all over the world. They include Kwame Nkrumah, Azumah Nelson, Abedi Pele
and Kofi Annan. The largest ethnic group is the Akans(of which I belong), who
make up about 40% of a 20 million population. Ghana is surrounded on three sides
by French-speaking republics (Togo, Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso) and to the
south by the Gulf of Guinea. And Finally I hope you had a good time going
through the little bit of history I've wracked up(I always loved history).
