This song is dedicated to those who were slain, as well as the survivors of the Drinks Saloon bar shooting on December 28, 2002. Verse 1: Sittin' at home chillin' with time to spare/ Bored on my ass, wait, what do I hear?/ Answered the phone, I couldn't believe my ears/ A gunman was at Drinks spreadin' more than just fear/ This psychotic terrorist was methodically killin'/ It's as if he wanted to be a martyred villain/ Bitch ass punk claimin' self defense/ Then why talk of suicide at the time of your arrest?/ That is what you said, is it not?/ Drove back home to get the 9 then back to the spot/ You played God and decided five people should be shot/ Karma is a bitch and I hope it destroys your life/ If there's any justice, the courts'll take his rights/ Here's to hopin' the trick pays by death/ Murder the innocent and your life becomes a debt// Hook (Repeat 2x): Why did they have to die?/ Look deep into our eyes/ See all the tears we've cried/ Pain is all that's left inside/ These lives will never be the same/ These lives have been Forever Changed// Verse 2: Comin' through the front, he revealed his steel and dumped/ Rounds scattered with intent, as victims fell to death/ And innocents held their breath not knowin' what's next/ Onlookers peeped his path/ As he unleashed his wrath, they bowed down and began to pray/ Attemptin' not to catch a motherfuckin' stray/ Music played yet silence filled the air/ He's on a warpath, so you know he doesn't care/ His minds derranged, so many lives he changed/ Sprayed that 9 like it was an AK/ He stops on the dance floor and changes his clip/ No time to waste, but not exiting quick/ He took his time searchin' for the guys that he wanted to kill/ Those who ejected him, it was their blood spilled/ Now this story is true, this ain't no fuckin' lie/ I know the shit's true cuz my sister almost died// Hook (Repeat 2x): Why did they have to die?/ Look deep into our eyes/ See all the tears we've cried/ Pain is all that's left inside/ These lives will never be the same/ These lives have been Forever Changed// Verse 3: You changed so many lives when you opened fire/ I wonder what the results were that you desired/ Revenge on the mind, that's all you could see/ Completely blinded over stupidity/ Two people died and many remain alive, but the wounds of that day are still open wide/ Countless people cried, and those same people wanna see you fry/ I don't think you can blame 'em/ Not even in your own mind/ I try to make sense of that day/ But, hey, it's ok, cuz you're locked down now and you won't be around/ I hope you drown in your own self-guilt/ And remember the lives that you tore down and rebuilt// |
